PSG Loans Gabriel Moscardo to Braga After Struggles Under Luis Enrique

PSG Loans Gabriel Moscardo to Braga After Struggles Under Luis Enrique

Brazilian midfielder seeks fresh start in Portugal after failing to impress in Ligue 1

Gabriel Moscardo, once considered one of the brightest talents to emerge from Corinthians, is on the move again. After failing to break into Paris Saint-Germain’s first team under Luis Enrique, the 19-year-old midfielder is set to join Braga on a one-year loan, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The deal does not include a purchase option, meaning PSG are retaining full control of the player’s future. Moscardo has already traveled to Portugal and is undergoing medical tests before the official announcement is made.

Third Loan Move Since PSG Arrival

This will be Moscardo’s third loan since signing for PSG in early 2024. After a brief return stint at Corinthians, he was loaned to Stade de Reims to gain experience in Ligue 1. Despite those opportunities, the young Brazilian has yet to establish himself at the French giants.

Braga, known for developing young talent and offering consistent game time in the Primeira Liga, presents a chance for Moscardo to reboot his European career.

PSG Paid €20M for Moscardo — Now Worth Less Than Half

When PSG signed Moscardo from Corinthians, the club paid €20 million (approx. R$129.6 million), a sum that reflected the midfielder’s high potential in Brazilian football.

However, a year and a half later, Moscardo’s market value has dropped to €8 million (approx. R$51.8 million), raising questions about his development trajectory. A successful stint at Braga could be key to rebuilding both his form and his valuation.

More Departures? Lucas Beraldo Could Follow

Moscardo might not be the only Brazilian heading for the PSG exit. Fellow youngster Lucas Beraldo, who started in the Club World Cup final loss to Chelsea, is reportedly open to leaving in search of more playing time.

According to L’Équipe, PSG will only consider offers of at least €30 million (around R$194 million) for the defender, who remains on the fringes of Luis Enrique’s starting lineup.
