Palmeiras x Chelsea: Time, Where to Watch, and What to Expect in the Club World Cup Quarterfinal

Palmeiras and Chelsea will meet this Friday (July 4) at 10:00 p.m. (Brasília time) in the quarterfinals of the FIFA Club World Cup. The match will take place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia and will be broadcast live on CazéTV (YouTube), Globoplay, TV Globo, and Sportv.

The winner of this clash will go on to face either Fluminense or Al Hilal in the semifinals.

The match marks a rematch of the 2021 Club World Cup final (played in 2022), when Chelsea defeated Palmeiras 2-1. Since then, both teams have undergone significant changes. Chelsea’s starting lineup from that final has been entirely replaced, while Palmeiras retains five players from that campaign: Weverton, Gustavo Gómez, Marcos Rocha, Piquerez, and Raphael Veiga, along with coach Abel Ferreira. However, Gómez, Piquerez, and Murilo will miss Friday’s match due to suspension and injury.

Palmeiras reached this stage by finishing first in its group and defeating Botafogo in the round of 16, boosted by strong support from Brazilian fans living in the United States.

Chelsea, on the other hand, finished second in their group after losing to Flamengo. The London side recovered in the round of 16 with a 4-1 extra-time victory over Benfica.
