Flamengo may be out of the Club World Cup, but it didn’t leave empty-handed. The Rubro-Negro collected an impressive US$27.7 million (around R$152 million) in prize money despite being eliminated in the round of 16 after a 4–2 defeat to Bayern Munich on Sunday (June 29).

Even without advancing past the first knockout round, the team’s performance brought in significant earnings, thanks to FIFA’s lucrative prize pool:

  • Participation bonus: US$15.2 million (R$83 million)
  • Round of 16 qualification: US$7.5 million (R$41 million)
  • Two wins in the group stage: US$4 million (R$22 million)
  • One draw: US$1 million (R$5.5 million)
  • Total: US$27.7 million — approximately R$152 million
