David Moyes confirms the Manchester City loanee could be sidelined for the remainder of the campaign following a serious foot injury.

Everton’s survival and mid-table ambitions have been dealt a devastating blow as Jack Grealish faces a potential season-ending surgery. The England international, currently on loan from Manchester City, sustained a serious foot injury that could keep him out of action until the summer of 2026.

Moyes Laments Loss of “Key Figure”

Everton manager David Moyes expressed his disappointment during Friday’s press conference. “We believe Jack will probably need surgery, though we are awaiting final confirmation. It would likely keep him out for the rest of the season,” Moyes stated.

Grealish had become a cornerstone of Moyes’ tactical system at Goodison Park, featuring in 22 of Everton’s 26 matches this season, contributing two goals and six assists. “He brought us experience and leadership. We will miss him dearly,” the manager added.

While Grealish is contracted to Manchester City until June 2027, his future at the Etihad looks increasingly uncertain. During his absence, Pep Guardiola’s side has moved on, most notably with the blockbuster signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.

Semenyo has enjoyed a dream start in Manchester, netting three goals in his first four games. With Jeremy Doku and Savinho also ahead in the pecking order, Grealish faces an uphill battle to regain his spot once his loan spell ends, despite the recent departure of Oscar Bobb to Fulham.
