Luis Suárez suspended again in MLS after spitting incident against Seattle Sounders

Luis Suárez has received a new punishment in Major League Soccer. The Inter Miami striker was suspended for three MLS matches after spitting on a Seattle Sounders staff member following a Leagues Cup game.
Incident sparks outrage
The controversy began after Inter Miami’s 3-0 defeat to Seattle Sounders in the Leagues Cup final. At the final whistle, Suárez lost control, spat at a member of the opposing staff, and had to be restrained by his own teammates.
The Leagues Cup Committee had already suspended the Uruguayan for six games. Now, MLS has imposed an additional three-match suspension, meaning the veteran forward will miss upcoming league fixtures against Charlotte FC and DC United. Inter Miami is also considering applying a financial fine.
Suárez issues apology
The 37-year-old striker, whose contract with Inter Miami runs until the end of the season, admitted regret in a social media post.
“It was a moment of great tension and frustration… but that doesn’t justify my reaction. I made a mistake and I sincerely apologize. This is not the image I want to show my family or my club,” Suárez wrote.
