Arsenal could complete a last-minute transfer deal before the closure of the Turkish window. According to Sözcü, forward Leandro Trossard is a target for Besiktas, with negotiations ongoing until September 11.
Trossard loses space under Arteta
The Belgian striker, 30, arrived from Brighton and initially gained importance due to injuries to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. Last season, he played 56 matches, scoring 10 goals and providing 10 assists.
However, the arrivals of Viktor Gyökeres, Eberechi Eze, and Noni Madueke have pushed him down the pecking order. Mikel Arteta now sees him as expendable, with Besiktas ready to offer €22 million (around R$140 million).
Turkish window still open
While most of Europe has closed its transfer market, Turkey’s runs until September 11, allowing Besiktas to make late moves. Other leagues such as Russia, Ukraine, Greece, and Saudi Arabia also remain open until mid-September, keeping alternative exits on the table for Arsenal.
What’s next for Arsenal
After the FIFA break, Arsenal return to the Premier League against Nottingham Forest on September 13, at 8:30 AM (Brasília time). Whether or not Trossard will still be part of the squad by then remains uncertain.
