Liverpool push to sign Marc Guehi after agreeing record deal for Isak

Liverpool are not done in the transfer market. After sealing the signing of Alexander Isak in a club-record deal, the Reds are now turning their full attention to Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
Isak Confirmed, Guehi Next Target
The Merseyside club officially announced Isak’s arrival on Monday (1) after weeks of negotiations. But manager Arne Slot has made it clear that reinforcing the backline remains a priority before the transfer window closes.
Guehi, 24, is at the top of the list. According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have already opened talks with Crystal Palace and expressed a willingness to push for the England international in the final hours of the window.
Crystal Palace Demand €60 Million
Negotiations, however, are proving difficult. Palace value their captain at around €60 million, a figure Liverpool are reluctant to meet in full. The London side are also hesitant to sell without first securing a replacement, which is slowing progress.
Despite the obstacles, Guehi is reportedly open to the move, giving Liverpool hope that a deal could still be struck before the deadline.
Slot Wants Defensive Reinforcement
Following the departure of Ibrahima Konaté and ongoing fitness concerns in defense, Slot has insisted on bringing in a reliable center-back. Guehi’s consistency in the Premier League and experience with England make him an ideal fit for Liverpool’s long-term plans.
Race Against Time
With the international transfer window closing in less than 24 hours, Liverpool face a race against the clock to finalize an agreement. While the Guehi deal remains complicated, the Reds are determined to announce at least one more signing before the deadline.
