Tottenham Hotspur continue to invest in young talent and have renewed their interest in signing Michael Kayode, the Brentford right-back, during the current transfer window.
After recently securing the arrival of Souza, the highly rated full-back from Santos, Spurs remain active in the market and are closely monitoring players with long-term potential.
Kayode Back on Tottenham’s Radar
According to Caught Offside, Tottenham have been tracking Kayode for some time and have now reopened discussions internally about a possible move. The right-back has impressed since his arrival in the Premier League and fits the club’s profile of young, athletic defenders.
Tottenham’s interest comes amid a disappointing start to the season, which has left the club struggling in the lower half of the Premier League table. As a result, the board believes reinforcements are needed, particularly in the full-back positions.
Competition From Premier League Rivals
Spurs are not alone in the race. Manchester City and Newcastle United are also reportedly monitoring Kayode’s situation closely, which could drive up competition and price.
One factor working in Tottenham’s favor is Thomas Frank. The Spurs manager previously worked with Kayode and is believed to have a strong relationship with the player, a detail that could influence early negotiations.
At this stage, however, no formal offer has been submitted, and the situation remains under evaluation.
Kayode’s Status at Brentford
Michael Kayode, a product of Juventus’ youth system, previously played for Fiorentina before joining Brentford in January 2025. What began as a loan deal was later made permanent for approximately £18 million.
Given his age, Premier League experience, and contract situation, Brentford are reportedly prepared to demand up to £40 million to consider a sale.
Tottenham Stay Active in the Market
With the signing of Souza already completed and defensive reinforcements still a priority, Tottenham are expected to remain active throughout the window. Kayode’s name is firmly on the shortlist, even as competition intensifies.
