Bayern Munich secure Nicolas Jackson loan after Chelsea standoff

Bayern Munich have finalized an agreement with Chelsea for the loan of striker Nicolas Jackson in a deal worth €15 million, resolving a tense standoff that nearly collapsed negotiations.
Loan confirmed with purchase obligation
According to Fabrizio Romano, the agreement includes a mandatory buy clause if certain performance targets are met. Jackson, 23, had already traveled to Munich for medicals last week before Chelsea abruptly pulled him back, citing injury concerns within their squad.
Despite the late twist, the Senegalese striker always made clear his desire to join Bayern, pushing for the deal to go through. Now, with all parties aligned, the official announcement is expected within hours.
Why Chelsea hesitated
The Blues initially blocked the transfer on Saturday after striker Liam Delap suffered an injury, leaving Enzo Maresca short of attacking options. With João Pedro as the only senior center forward available, Chelsea temporarily recalled Jackson. However, renewed talks over the weekend allowed both clubs to strike a fresh agreement.
Bayern’s striker hunt resolved
Bayern Munich had even considered turning to Ademola Lookman (Atalanta) as an alternative before talks were revived. Now, with Jackson set to arrive, coach Vincent Kompany gains a crucial addition to his squad as the Bavarians aim to reclaim the Bundesliga crown and push for another Champions League title.
