Al-Ittihad presents an offer of €60 million for the signing of Jean Mattéo-Bahoya from Eintracht Frankfurt

Saudi club Al-Ittihad, managed by Laurent Blanc, has tabled a €60 million (R$382 million) offer to sign French forward Jean Mattéo-Bahoya from Eintracht Frankfurt. The proposal, however, was immediately rejected, as the German side is demanding closer to €80 million (R$510 million) to begin negotiations.
Eintracht Frankfurt Stands Firm
According to reports from the European press, Frankfurt has no intention of letting Bahoya go cheaply. The 20-year-old striker, considered one of France’s most promising young talents, only joined the Bundesliga side in January 2024 for €8 million from Angers.
In addition to the financial gap, Bahoya himself is not pushing for a transfer. Sources indicate the player is happy in Frankfurt and focused on continuing his development in German football rather than moving to Saudi Arabia.
Rapid Rise Since Bundesliga Move
Bahoya quickly became a key figure at Eintracht. Last season, he played 33 matches, recording 3 goals and 4 assists. His strong performances at the start of the 2024/25 season have further raised his profile, as he has already netted 3 goals and 1 assist in just 3 appearances.
The striker’s speed, creativity, and versatility have not only made him indispensable for Frankfurt but also attracted attention from across Europe. Scouts view him as one of the brightest prospects in French football, with the potential to feature for the senior national team in the near future.
Contract and Market Value
Bahoya remains under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until 2029, giving the club a strong negotiating position. While Transfermarkt currently values him at €17 million, Frankfurt believes his true worth is far higher, especially given his trajectory and potential resale value.
With the Saudi transfer window open until September 10, Al-Ittihad still has time to revisit negotiations. However, unless they return with a significantly higher bid, Frankfurt is unlikely to part ways with their young star.
