Xabi Alonso is impressed by the performance of Thiago Pitarch, who trains with the professional squad

Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso has been impressed by the performances of young midfielder Thiago Pitarch, who has taken part in four training sessions with the first team ahead of the new season.
According to journalist Álvaro Esteban of Remontada Blanca, Pitarch, 18, has been one of the standout players in Castilla’s pre-season under Álvaro Arbeloa. His technical quality and composure in midfield have already caught Alonso’s attention, positioning him as a potential long-term reinforcement for Los Blancos.
Chance to Impress in Friendly
Real Madrid will face Leganés in a behind-closed-doors match at Valdebebas on Friday (8 August). The fixture is expected to see more than five substitutions, giving Pitarch, as well as fellow youngsters Diego Aguado and Daniel Yáñez, an opportunity to gain valuable minutes and adapt to the senior team’s dynamics.
Alonso’s Clear Plan
While minutes with the first team will depend on continued development, Alonso has already outlined each player’s role for the upcoming campaign. The Spanish coach will officially begin his season after the Club World Cup and is keeping a close eye on emerging talents from La Fábrica who could make the jump to the senior squad.
