Wolverhampton’s Vitor Pereira denies leaving Strand Larsen, Newcastle’s target to replace Alexander Isak

Vítor Pereira insists Norwegian striker remains in his plans despite transfer links.

Newcastle eye Larsen as potential Isak replacement

With Alexander Isak attracting strong interest in the market, Newcastle United has turned its attention to possible alternatives. One of the names on their shortlist is Jørgen Strand Larsen, currently at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Norwegian forward is considered one of the most promising young strikers in Europe, and his performances have put him on the radar of several clubs.

Vítor Pereira shuts down exit rumors

After Wolves’ League Cup victory over West Ham, coach Vítor Pereira addressed speculation about Larsen’s future.

“If it’s my decision, of course I want to keep him, because he’s a very important player,” Pereira told reporters. “So far, Jørgen is our player, and we’ll see what happens. Football is football, every player has a price, even Messi or Cristiano. But he’s very, very important to us.”

No signs Larsen is pushing for transfer

The Portuguese manager also dismissed claims that Larsen is pushing for a move away.

“I know him very well. He will never, ever force a transfer. Some players in that situation ask not to play, but Larsen always wants to be involved,” Pereira stressed.

For now, Larsen remains part of Wolves’ plans, but with the transfer window entering its final stretch, Newcastle’s pursuit of reinforcements could add more drama in the coming days.
