Newcastle and West Ham join Everton in the race for Nathan Aké; Manchester City demand €40 million

Dutch defender could leave the Etihad after an injury-hit spell with Guardiola’s squad.
Manchester City sets price for Aké
Manchester City is open to selling Nathan Aké this transfer window. According to CaughtOffside, the club has informed potential suitors that it will only negotiate for offers around €40 million (R$252 million). Despite valuing the defender’s qualities, the Citizens are concerned about his fitness after a series of injuries.
Since his arrival in the 2020/21 season, the 30-year-old has endured 12 injuries, missed 311 days, and featured in just 76 matches across all competitions, including international duty with the Netherlands.
Newcastle, West Ham and Everton interested
Three Premier League rivals Newcastle, West Ham and Everton are monitoring Aké’s situation and could present proposals in the coming days. With Rúben Dias and John Stones established as Pep Guardiola’s first-choice pairing, the Dutchman has slipped down the pecking order.
City recently added Rayan Aït-Nouri and Abdukodir Khusanov to strengthen its defense, further limiting Aké’s opportunities. In his season debut, he played out of position at left-back in the 2-1 defeat to Tottenham, registering a 6.3 SofaScore rating.
More exits possible at City
Aké isn’t the only defender who could leave the Etihad. According to reports, Manuel Akanji is also negotiating a move to Galatasaray, which is preparing a €20m (R$119m) bid for the Swiss international.
With Guardiola reshaping his backline, the coming days could bring significant defensive departures from Manchester City.
