Saudi Arabia agrees to pay €350 million to buy Mbappé from Real Madrid, says portal

Saudi Arabia has reignited its interest in Kylian Mbappé, with local reports suggesting the country is prepared to make a record-breaking bid of €350 million (R$2.2 billion) for the 26-year-old Real Madrid forward. According to Spanish outlet Defensa Central, the offer would surpass all previous transfer fees in football history.
The Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) had previously approached Mbappé before his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Madrid. Despite multiple attempts, the Frenchman opted for La Liga football in 2024. Now, a year later, Saudi officials view the signing as a potential landmark for the nation’s growing football project.
Would Shatter Neymar’s Record Fee
The most expensive transfer to date remains Neymar Jr.’s 2018 switch from Barcelona to PSG for €222 million (then R$821 million). Mbappé’s potential deal would dwarf that figure, setting a new benchmark in the sport’s financial landscape.
Player and Club Aligned Against Exit
Despite the massive proposal, Mbappé has no intention of leaving Spain. The forward is said to be content at Real Madrid, believing that staying in Europe is essential to maintain top form ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The club also considers him untouchable, placing him among six players deemed non-transferable by coach Xabi Alonso and the board.
Impressive Debut Season in Madrid
Mbappé’s first campaign in white was prolific. Across 59 matches in all competitions, he scored 44 goals and provided nine assists, finishing as the team’s top scorer. His focus now turns to the upcoming La Liga opener at home against Osasuna, with Alonso prioritizing domestic success amid strong competition from Barcelona.
