Real Madrid’s Rodrygo asks for €1.5 million monthly salary to play for Liverpool

Real Madrid’s Rodrygo demands €1.5 million monthly salary to join Liverpool

Brazilian striker Rodrygo is pushing for a massive salary package if he leaves Real Madrid for Liverpool. The 24-year-old, who has fallen out of favor under new coach Xabi Alonso, is demanding €15 million (R$95.2 million) per year around R$8 million per month to move to Anfield.

From starter to bench under Xabi Alonso

Rodrygo was a key figure under Carlo Ancelotti, helping Madrid win the Champions League and La Liga. But since Xabi Alonso took over, his role has diminished drastically. In the club’s La Liga opener against Osasuna, the Brazilian stayed on the bench throughout the 1-0 win, visibly frustrated by his situation.

Liverpool interest faces obstacles

Liverpool have been monitoring Rodrygo for over a year and see him as a potential addition to their attack. However, his transfer would not come cheap. Real Madrid are demanding €100 million (R$634.5 million) for the player, on top of his high salary request.

Salary on par with Real Madrid deal

According to Football España, Rodrygo’s wage demand matches what he currently earns in Spain, showing he is unwilling to take a pay cut to secure a move. This poses a challenge for Liverpool, who remain cautious about committing to such a high financial package.

Isak remains top priority for Liverpool

Despite exploring Rodrygo’s situation, Alexander Isak is still Liverpool’s main target. The Swedish striker has already expressed his desire to join the Reds, though Newcastle United continue to resist negotiations.

With Rodrygo unsettled in Madrid and Liverpool weighing their options, the coming weeks could prove decisive for the Brazilian’s future.
