Club also evaluates signing a new goalkeeper after Carlos Miguel’s departure.

Double move in the full-back market

Nottingham Forest are preparing to reinforce both defensive flanks before the transfer window closes. According to The Athletic, the Premier League side wants to secure at least two full-backs, one for each wing, and has already shortlisted four names.

On the right side, the club is monitoring Nahuel Molina (Atlético Madrid) and Lutsharel Geertruida (RB Leipzig). For the left side, the targets are Joaquin Seys (Club Brugge) and Victor Kristiansen (Leicester City).

Molina and Geertruida in focus

The most high-profile name is Nahuel Molina, a 27-year-old Argentine who has been with Atlético since 2022. World Cup champion in 2022 and twice Copa América winner, the full-back lost his place under Diego Simeone last season and could be open to a Premier League move.

Meanwhile, Dutch defender Lutsharel Geertruida, 25, joined RB Leipzig in 2024. Despite 35 appearances last season, he has yet to play this term, fueling speculation about a transfer.

Options for the left flank

At just 20 years old, Joaquin Seys has already made 48 appearances for Club Brugge and is seen as a player with high growth potential. Victor Kristiansen, 22, has been at Leicester since 2023 and has accumulated 45 appearances in English football.

Goalkeeper on the agenda

Beyond the full-backs, Forest are also weighing the arrival of a new goalkeeper. After releasing Carlos Miguel to Palmeiras, the club is eyeing David Soria (Getafe, 23 years old, 265 appearances since 2018) as their main target. Dominik Livakovic (Fenerbahçe, 30 years old, 72 appearances since 2023) is considered the backup option.

Final stretch of the window

With squad adjustments still pending, Nottingham Forest’s board is expected to intensify talks in the coming days. The priority is clear: strengthen the flanks and secure a reliable goalkeeper to avoid depth issues during the season.
