Manchester United rejects Real Betis’ offer for Antony, Brazilian remains in squad

Manchester United have rejected an official offer from Real Betis for striker Antony, keeping the Brazilian on their roster for the 2025/26 season. The Spanish club had proposed a loan deal with an option to buy, but the Red Devils opted against the move, according to GE.
Antony Remains Part of United’s Plans
Despite speculation about a potential departure, Manchester United’s board believes Antony can still contribute this season. The 24-year-old forward, who joined from Ajax in 2022, is under contract until 2027 and is seen as a key backup in attack.
Coach Erik ten Hag continues to show confidence in the Brazilian, emphasizing that Antony still has the potential to regain a starting role and improve his consistency on the pitch.
Market Interest and Competition
In addition to Betis, clubs from the Bundesliga and Saudi Arabia have reportedly shown interest in Antony. However, none of the offers met United’s valuation. The club invested €95 million (R$603 million) in the former Ajax player and hopes to recover part of that if a transfer occurs in the future.
At Old Trafford, Antony faces competition from Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Facundo Pellistri, making game time highly contested. For now, the striker remains focused on proving his worth in the Premier League, with a potential move only expected in the winter window.
