Manchester United Shift Focus From Raphinha to Bournemouth’s Evanilson in Search for New Striker

Manchester United has officially moved on from long-time target Raphinha, setting its sights on a new Brazilian forward: Evanilson, currently playing for Bournemouth. With the Red Devils looking to strengthen their attack even after signing Matheus Cunha, Evanilson has now emerged as a top priority for the Premier League giants.
Raphinha No Longer a Target
Barcelona’s Raphinha had previously been linked with a move to Old Trafford across multiple transfer windows, but that interest has now cooled. Manchester United appears to have abandoned the idea of signing the former Leeds winger, opting instead to reinforce the center-forward position.
Evanilson: A New Brazilian Option With Premier League Experience
According to Transfer Feed, Manchester United is showing strong interest in Evanilson, the 25-year-old Brazilian striker who joined Bournemouth last season after a prolific stint with FC Porto.
The striker has quickly adapted to English football, scoring 12 goals in 34 appearances during his debut season in the Premier League. His previous form in Portugal was even more impressive 25 goals and 5 assists in 42 matches for Porto in the 2023/24 campaign, making him one of the most sought-after Brazilian forwards in Europe.
Former Fluminense Talent Could Replace Hojlund
Before his European career, Evanilson rose through the ranks at Fluminense, scoring 10 goals in 25 matches for the Rio club between 2019 and 2020. Now at 25 years old, he is being considered a direct replacement for Rasmus Højlund, who has underperformed since arriving at Old Trafford.
With Højlund potentially on the way out possibly to Italian football United is keen to secure a striker who can deliver immediate results.
Gyökeres Heading to Arsenal
Another forward previously on Manchester United’s radar, Viktor Gyökeres, is reportedly on the verge of joining Arsenal. The Swedish international had been a standout performer for Sporting CP, but his relationship with the Portuguese club deteriorated in recent months, opening the door for a move.
