Manchester City open to selling Savinho and targeting Rodrygo as replacement

Manchester City could part ways with Brazilian forward Savinho in the current transfer window, with Tottenham Hotspur pushing to secure his signing. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the player himself is open to the move, but negotiations between the clubs remain ongoing.

Tottenham’s Offer Rejected

City have already turned down Tottenham’s opening bid of €70 million (R$441.6 million), signaling that while a deal is possible, it would require a more substantial offer. Savinho, under contract with the Premier League champions until June 2029, registered three goals and 11 assists in 48 matches last season.

Rodrygo Identified as Replacement

Behind the scenes, City have a clear plan if Savinho leaves: pursue Real Madrid star Rodrygo. As reported by journalist Matteo Moretto, the Spanish giants value the Brazilian winger at €100 million (R$630.5 million) and are unlikely to enter talks for anything less.

The move would represent an effective swap of Savinho for a more established name, strengthening Pep Guardiola’s attacking options. However, prying Rodrygo away from Carlo Ancelotti’s squad will be a major challenge.

Comparing the Players

Rodrygo featured in 54 games for Real Madrid during the 2024/25 season, scoring 14 goals and providing 10 assists a total of 24 goal involvements, compared to Savinho’s 14.

With the transfer market heating up, the next few weeks could decide whether City reshuffle their forward line with one of LaLiga’s brightest talents.
