Harry Kane’s hat trick powers Bayern Munich to a 6-0 thrashing of RB Leipzig in their Bundesliga opener

Bayern Munich began the 2025/26 Bundesliga season with a statement of intent, dismantling RB Leipzig 6–0 at the Allianz Arena on Friday (15). Harry Kane, the league’s top scorer in each of the past two seasons, stole the spotlight with a brilliant hat-trick, while Michael Olise and Luis Díaz also found the net in a one-sided contest.

Kane Picks Up Where He Left Off

The England striker, who had already scored in Bayern’s Supercup win over Stuttgart last weekend, was at his ruthless best. Kane opened his account in the 63rd minute with a composed finish, doubled his tally just 10 minutes later with another precise strike, and completed his hat-trick in the 76th minute after a lightning counterattack.

It was a reminder of his dominance in front of goal: four goals in just two official matches to start the season.

Olise and Díaz Spark First-Half Surge

Before Kane’s second-half masterclass, Bayern had already stamped their authority. French winger Michael Olise struck the opener in the 26th minute after Leipzig failed to clear their lines. Just five minutes later, Colombian international Luis Díaz Bayern’s marquee summer signing  scored his first Bundesliga goal with a crisp finish following a slick exchange of passes.

Olise struck again in the 41st minute, putting Bayern 3–0 up at halftime and effectively ending the contest before Kane’s flurry after the break.

Allianz Arena Atmosphere and Bayern’s Statement

With the Allianz Arena packed, Bayern’s attacking football overwhelmed Leipzig from start to finish. The champions not only showed their squad depth but also underlined why they remain firm favorites to lift yet another Bundesliga crown.

What’s Next for Bayern and Leipzig

Bayern return to action on Wednesday (20) in the DFB-Pokal against third-division side Wehen Wiesbaden. Their next Bundesliga test comes on Saturday (23), away to Augsburg.

RB Leipzig, who were completely outplayed, will aim to recover at home against Heidenheim, also on Saturday.
