Hansi Flick’s Barcelona shows interest in signing Olympique de Marseille midfielder Azzedine Ounahi

Barcelona has reignited its pursuit of Olympique de Marseille midfielder Azzedine Ounahi, with Hansi Flick’s side viewing the Moroccan international as a viable option to strengthen the squad for next season.
Ounahi Back on Barcelona’s Radar
According to reports from the Turkish press, Barça has entered the race with determination, seeing the 24-year-old as a cost-effective reinforcement. The Catalans had already identified Ounahi as a target following his standout performances at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where he played a crucial role in Morocco’s historic semifinal run.
Marseille Open to Negotiations
Olympique de Marseille is reportedly willing to negotiate Ounahi’s departure. The French side is aiming to reduce its squad size and improve financial stability, making a potential transfer feasible if the right offer arrives.
Other Clubs Also Interested
Before Barcelona stepped in, Girona, Panathinaikos, and a Russian club had attempted to sign the midfielder, but their proposals either failed to convince Marseille or were rejected by the player himself.
Additionally, Espanyol and Trabzonspor have also shown interest, though Trabzonspor is reportedly assessing alternative targets in case talks stall.
Market Value and Contract Situation
Ounahi remains under contract with Marseille until June 30, 2027, giving the Ligue 1 club leverage in negotiations. His current market value is estimated at €10 million, according to Transfermarkt.
