Garnacho rejects Saudi Arabia’s offer and is close to leaving Manchester United for Chelsea

Argentine striker set to leave Manchester United after falling out of favor under Ruben Amorim.

Chelsea in pole position for Garnacho

The future of Alejandro Garnacho appears increasingly distant from Old Trafford. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 21-year-old forward has rejected a new offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, making it clear that his priority is to join Chelsea this summer.

Talks between the Argentine and the London club are advanced, with personal terms already agreed. The only obstacle remains the transfer fee: Manchester United are asking around €50 million, while Chelsea are preparing a proposal closer to €30–35 million (£25–30m).

Manchester United set to part ways

Even if Chelsea do not complete the signing, Garnacho is unlikely to remain at Manchester United for the 2025/26 season. Manager Ruben Amorim has already released him to train separately while the club negotiates his future.

The Red Devils want to maximize his market value, given his age and international experience with Argentina. However, with the English transfer window closing on September 1st, United may be forced to lower their demands to avoid complications.

Career path and achievements

Born in Madrid to an Argentine mother, Garnacho holds dual nationality. He initially represented Spain at youth level, but later committed to Argentina, winning the 2024 Copa América with Lionel Messi and company.

A product of Getafe and Atlético Madrid’s academies, he turned professional with Manchester United in 2022. Since then, he has made 144 appearances, scoring 26 goals. Last season alone, he featured in 58 games and netted 11 times, consolidating himself as one of the most promising young wingers in the Premier League.
