Chema Andrés’ brilliant header seals Stuttgart’s first Bundesliga win

Spanish midfielder Chema Andrés, on loan from Real Madrid, scored a stunning header to hand Stuttgart a 1-0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach. The 19-year-old rose highest in the 79th minute to secure his team’s first win of the season.
Super-sub to hero
Introduced in the 64th minute for Karazor, Andrés needed just 15 minutes to make the difference. Leweling whipped in a precise cross from the left, and the 1.90m Spaniard powered home a header from the penalty spot — his first goal in German football.
The Madrid youth product, already called up to Spain’s U21 squad, showcased once again why aerial duels are his specialty.
Early signs of impact
Despite limited minutes so far, Andrés has quickly made himself noticed. In the Super Cup against Bayern, he assisted Leweling’s strike within minutes of coming on. Against Eintracht Braunschweig in the Cup, he impressed during extra time, even after missing a penalty in the shootout.
Now, with his first Bundesliga goal, the young midfielder is proving to be a decisive weapon for Sebastian Hoeneß’s side.
Relief for Stuttgart
The win comes as a much-needed boost after a 2-1 defeat to Union Berlin on the opening day and a nervy Cup qualification. The three points against Gladbach ease pressure and give Stuttgart momentum heading into the next round of fixtures.
For Real Madrid, who hold a buy-back option, Andrés’ rapid adaptation in Germany will not go unnoticed.
