Chelsea offer Nicolas Jackson to Barcelona amid Lewandowski uncertainty

Chelsea have officially offered Nicolas Jackson to FC Barcelona, as the Premier League club seeks to offload the 24-year-old Senegalese striker following the arrival of João Pedro, who has secured a starting role under new manager Enzo Maresca.

According to Caught Offside, the Blues are looking to negotiate a transfer for Jackson before the Premier League season begins. The forward is valued at approximately €50 million, and Chelsea are actively seeking buyers across Europe.

Barcelona Not Convinced by Jackson… For Now

While Barcelona are indeed exploring options to eventually replace veteran striker Robert Lewandowski, their initial assessment of Jackson has been cautious. Sources close to the Catalan club suggest the player is considered too expensive given his current form and salary demands.

However, the club’s stance could shift depending on developments with Lewandowski, who is reportedly being pursued by clubs in Saudi Arabia. His contract runs until the end of the 2025–26 season, but his advancing age (36) and growing interest from abroad are prompting contingency planning at Camp Nou.

Laporta’s Eyes Set on Haaland for 2026

Club president Joan Laporta is already thinking ahead. With the 2026 elections on the horizon, Laporta is reportedly prioritizing the blockbuster signing of Erling Haaland from Manchester City. The Norwegian striker is the president’s top target to fill the number 9 role ahead of other high-profile options like Julián Álvarez, who recently joined Atlético Madrid.

While the financial commitment for Haaland would be immense, Laporta is reportedly exploring sponsorship deals and strategic funding options to make the move viable in 2026.

Chelsea Seek Quick Sale Amid United Interest

As for Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea are hoping to conclude a deal quickly. In addition to Barcelona, Manchester United have expressed tentative interest in the striker, though new manager Rúben Amorim is prioritizing other targets before deciding on a new center forward.

Chelsea’s plan remains to reduce squad size and generate funds before the new season begins, with Jackson’s future now a top concern at Stamford Bridge.
