Benjamin Sesko’s agent reveals why the player didn’t go to Arsenal

Manchester United have secured the signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, ending weeks of speculation linking the striker to other European giants. The Slovenian forward signed a contract until 2030 in a deal worth €76.5 million fixed plus €8.5 million in bonuses, according to The Athletic.

United Was Always the Dream

Despite heavy interest from Arsenal, Sesko’s agent revealed the player’s choice was never in doubt. “Benjamin’s dream for years has always been Manchester United. He was even willing to take a pay cut to make the move happen. I wanted to make that dream come true,” the representative told English television.

Arsenal’s Pursuit Stalled

The Gunners had identified Sesko as a priority target for this transfer window, with Fichajes reporting a potential €100 million offer. Mikel Arteta had approved the pursuit, aiming to strengthen his attack. However, no formal negotiations advanced, as the player was also being monitored by Liverpool and Barcelona.

Contract Details

United moved quickly to agree on personal terms, finalizing a deal that will pay Sesko around £160,000 per week approximately £8 million per season (about R$58 million at current rates), according to journalist Rok Viškovič. The salary could increase with performance bonuses.

With the transfer complete, Manchester United now have one of Europe’s most promising young strikers locked in for the long term, while Arsenal turn their attention to alternative options in the market.
