Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane is a target for Barcelona, who are betting on a contract clause

Harry Kane could be on Barcelona’s radar in 2026 due to a little-known clause in his Bayern Munich deal, according to Fichajes. The clause reportedly allows the English striker whose contract runs until June 2027 to leave the German club without legal hurdles once that year arrives.

Barcelona see Kane as a prime candidate to replace Robert Lewandowski, whose contract is nearing its end. New head coach Hansi Flick is said to admire Kane’s blend of technique, finishing ability, leadership, and vision qualities that could boost the performances of Raphinha and rising star Lamine Yamal.

For now, there are no talks between the parties, and Kane is reportedly happy in Munich. However, the situation could change quickly if the striker decides to seek a new challenge.

Other names on Barça’s long-term list include Julián Álvarez and Erling Haaland, though both would require massive investment. Club president Joan Laporta has until the summer of 2026 to line up Lewandowski’s successor  with Haaland remaining his ultimate dream signing.
