Arsenal are eyeing Morgan Rogers and Julián Álvarez as options to replace injured Kai Havertz.

Arsenal are weighing transfer moves for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Atlético Madrid forward Julián Álvarez as potential replacements for Kai Havertz, who is sidelined with a knee injury.

Havertz injury forces market reaction

According to David Ornstein (The Athletic), Havertz, 26, missed open training at Emirates Stadium this week due to his latest setback. The German midfielder has been a key part of Mikel Arteta’s plans, and his absence leaves a gap that Arsenal aim to fill quickly before the transfer window closes on September 1st.

Rogers and Watkins on the radar

Reports from TEAMtalk reveal that Arsenal are closely monitoring Morgan Rogers, Aston Villa’s Young Player of the Season, as well as his teammate Ollie Watkins. While Watkins has been valued at £60m (R$440m), Villa are unwilling to negotiate his exit. Rogers, however, has emerged as a versatile alternative, able to cover both wide and central roles.

Villa remain reluctant to sell, but Arsenal could test their stance late in the window.

Julián Álvarez also considered

In addition to Villa’s duo, Arsenal have also added Julián Álvarez to their shortlist. The Argentine striker, now at Atlético Madrid after leaving Manchester City, is admired by Arteta, but his signing would be highly complex.

Other striker options

Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson has also been mentioned, though competition from Newcastle United could complicate negotiations. Jackson has lost his place following Chelsea’s new signings and could be available for around £60m.
