Al-Nassr agrees to sell Otávio to Grêmio, but demands €15 million to close the deal

Al-Nassr has agreed to negotiate the sale of midfielder Otávio, but only if Grêmio or another club pays around R$95 million (€15 million). The 30-year-old, born in Brazil and naturalized Portuguese, is no longer in the Saudi club’s plans and could return to Brazilian football this summer.

Grêmio Aware of Conditions

According to journalist Fábio Vargas, Grêmio has already been informed of the financial terms required to bring Otávio back to Brazil. The “Imortal” sees the midfielder as an important reinforcement but will only move forward with the deal if Al-Nassr lowers the price or allows a release on favorable terms.

Otávio was one of Al-Nassr’s headline signings during the Saudi Pro League’s investment boom, but after two seasons, his cycle appears to be ending. Despite being included in preseason activities, including the friendly against Rio Ave, he has not played an official match this season.

From Internacional to Possible Return to Brazil

The midfielder’s story has an ironic twist: he was developed at Grêmio’s archrival, Internacional, where he played between 2012 and 2014. During that period, he made 62 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing two assists before moving to Europe.

If he joins Grêmio, it would mark a return to Brazil more than a decade after leaving his formative club.

Grêmio’s Market Ambitions

Otávio is not the only name on Grêmio’s radar. The club has already agreed on Arthur’s return and attempted to negotiate with Roger Guedes, currently at Al-Rayyan. Even Christian Eriksen, recently released by Manchester United, has been linked, although talks have not advanced.

The Numbers Behind the Deal

Al-Nassr invested heavily to sign Otávio and now demands €15 million (R$95 million) to let him go. Grêmio’s financial situation suggests a direct purchase at this value is unlikely, meaning negotiations will depend on Al-Nassr’s willingness to compromise.
