Al-Ittihad wants to sign Adrien Rabiot from Olympique de Marseille

Saudi champions Al-Ittihad are monitoring Adrien Rabiot’s situation at Olympique de Marseille after the midfielder was sidelined following a dressing-room altercation.

Al-Ittihad wants Rabiot as midfield reinforcement

The Saudi Pro League returns this weekend, and reigning champions Al-Ittihad, coached by Laurent Blanc, are still looking for reinforcements to defend their title in the 2025/26 season.

According to journalist Santi Aouna, the club is evaluating a move for Adrien Rabiot, who has been placed on Marseille’s transfer list after a serious incident behind the scenes.

Rabiot suspended after clash with teammate

French media report that Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe got into a heated argument that escalated into a physical fight after Marseille’s Ligue 1 opening-round defeat. Both players were suspended and made available for transfer by coach Roberto De Zerbi.

With just one year left on his contract, Marseille is open to selling the French midfielder for around €15 million (R$95.9 million).

Juventus and Milan also interested

Rabiot, 30, had already rejected a renewal offer from Marseille, and his behavior has reportedly created problems internally. European giants Juventus and Milan are also monitoring the situation closely, as they consider him a bargain opportunity.

Al-Ittihad midfield still strong — but room for one more?

In the Saudi Super Cup semifinal against Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad fielded a midfield trio of Fabinho, N’Golo Kanté, and Houssem Aouar the same unit that helped them win last season’s league.

Even so, management sees Rabiot as an additional piece to bring depth and European experience, especially with the transfer window in Saudi Arabia remaining open until September 10th.
