Vasco has reached an agreement to loan defender Lucas Oliveira to Sport, leaving the final decision in the hands of the player himself. The information was first reported by ge and confirmed by Lance!.

Lucas Oliveira, who joined Vasco at no cost earlier this year, currently finds himself at the bottom of the pecking order in the club’s defense. After suffering an injury in February, he lost his place in the squad, with Lucas Freitas, Luiz Gustavo, and Mauricio Lemos moving ahead of him.

The defender has a contract with Vasco valid until the end of 2026. Since arriving at the club, he has made just seven appearances, five of them as a starter. His most recent match was on May 13, in Vasco’s defeat to Lanús in Argentina, during the Copa Sudamericana.

Lucas Freitas, who also joined Vasco without a transfer fee, had 70% of his economic rights secured by the Rio club, with Cruzeiro retaining the other 30%.
