Real Madrid receives offers for Dani Ceballos, but Xabi Alonso decides not to sell any midfielder

Real Betis’ pursuit shut down as new manager refuses to lose depth in central midfield
Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso has firmly vetoed the sale of midfielder Dani Ceballos, signaling that no departures will be permitted from the midfield this summer. According to Cadena SER, the Spanish tactician sees maintaining depth in the middle of the pitch as essential to the club’s goals for the 2025/26 season.
The decision comes after Real Betis reignited their interest in the former loan star, hoping to offer him more minutes and a key role. However, their approach was rejected outright, with the Madrid hierarchy respecting Alonso’s stance.
Ceballos was close to exit — but Alonso stepped in
Although Ceballos is not a regular starter, he remains an important rotational piece. Under Carlo Ancelotti, and now Alonso, his experience and composure have made him a reliable option, especially in tight matches across La Liga, Champions League, and Copa del Rey.
Real Madrid had previously set a price tag of €15 million for the Spanish international above his current €10 million valuation on Transfermarkt. However, that figure is now off the table, as no offers will be considered following Alonso’s directive.
Midfield market still a priority for Los Blancos
Despite freezing any midfield exits, Real Madrid is actively searching for a reinforcement in central midfield. Xabi Alonso is reportedly eager to bring in a top-class option to strengthen the core of his squad, but knows that options are limited this summer.
The club’s long-term target remains Rodri, currently a key player at Manchester City. While a transfer is considered unlikely in the short term due to the midfielder’s contract (expiring in 2027), Madrid continues to monitor his situation closely.
