Real Madrid eyes Coritiba goalkeeper Pedro Morisco; club prioritizes European offers over Brazilian giants

Real Madrid has emerged as the leading candidate in the race to sign 19-year-old goalkeeper Pedro Morisco from Coritiba, with the Brazilian club giving clear preference to European negotiations over domestic rivals Flamengo and Palmeiras.
Despite Thibaut Courtois recently renewing his contract, the Spanish giants are already laying the groundwork for a generational transition. According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid scouts have identified Morisco as a long-term option and are closely monitoring his performances in Brazil’s second division.
The promising keeper has also attracted the attention of Flamengo and Palmeiras, as revealed by journalist Jorge Nicola. However, Coritiba appears unwilling to entertain offers from Brazilian clubs. According to Rogério Scarione, a journalist specializing in Coritiba, the board has not received any formal proposals but is firm in its stance: European clubs, particularly Real Madrid, will be prioritized in any future negotiation.
Morisco, whose contract runs until December 2027, currently has a release clause of €30 million. That figure, originally set at R$193 million, may increase significantly if he renews his contract especially if Coritiba secures promotion to Brazil’s top flight, a scenario that looks increasingly likely as the team sits second in Série B.
Despite the transfer buzz, Morisco remains focused on the pitch and committed to helping “Coxa” regain its place in the Brazilian Serie A.
As interest from top European clubs continues to grow, Real Madrid appears to have a clear advantage both in terms of sporting ambition and Coritiba’s own strategic vision for the young goalkeeper’s future.
