Manchester United Ready to Pay €30 Million for Galatasaray’s Gabriel Sara

Brazilian midfielder becomes a priority target for Rúben Amorim’s rebuild at Old Trafford

Manchester United have stepped up their interest in signing Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara from Galatasaray, with a proposal of £26 million already prepared, according to Turkish outlet Aksam.

The 26-year-old has emerged as a top target for United’s manager Rúben Amorim, who is looking to reshape the midfield for the 2025/26 season. Sara is open to a Premier League move, while Galatasaray are holding out for at least £30 million to release the player.

Strong Season at Galatasaray Draws Attention

Gabriel Sara joined Galatasaray from Norwich City at the start of last season and made an immediate impact, scoring 12 goals in his debut Süper Lig campaign. His performances have not only helped Galatasaray in domestic competitions but also increased his visibility among Europe’s elite clubs.

Manchester United, facing midfield depth concerns, see Sara as a player capable of contributing creatively and offensively. Despite already having options in midfield, Amorim is keen to bring in a box-to-box player with attacking instincts, and Sara fits that profile.

Transfer Talks Progressing, but Price Still a Sticking Point

While Manchester United’s initial offer of £26 million shows strong intent, Galatasaray are reportedly unwilling to sell below their valuation of £30 million . The Turkish club views Sara as a key asset, but are aware that player pressure and Premier League interest could influence negotiations.

Sources close to the club suggest that Sara is enthusiastic about the move, which may accelerate talks in the coming weeks.

Concerns Over Premier League Adaptability

Despite a productive season in Turkey, there are questions over Sara’s ability to adapt to the pace and physicality of English football. His playing style characterized by high-risk vertical passes has led to an average of 13 possession losses per match, according to Süper Lig data.

That said, United officials believe Sara’s vision, energy, and offensive threat could outweigh the risks, especially under Amorim’s high-pressing, fluid system.

Other Midfield Targets Still in Play

While Sara is high on the club’s list, Manchester United are also monitoring Matheus Cunha (Wolves) and Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford) as alternative or additional options. However, Sara’s availability and price range make him the most viable signing at this stage of the window.
