Manchester United drops Gyökeres and enters dispute with Newcastle for PSG’s Kolo Muani

PSG striker not in Luis Enrique’s plans and now pursued by two Premier League giants

Manchester United have pulled out of the race for Viktor Gyökeres and are now turning their full attention to Randal Kolo Muani as their new number 9. The Paris Saint-Germain forward is no longer in Luis Enrique’s long-term plans, and Premier League interest is heating up fast.

Kolo Muani Now a Top Target for Manchester United

According to Foot Mercato, United have already begun initial talks with Kolo Muani’s representatives. The 25-year-old striker has emerged as a more realistic option than Gyökeres, who has proven difficult to pry away from Sporting CP.

New manager Rúben Amorim is believed to be a fan of the French international’s profile and sees him as a strong fit for the system he plans to implement at Old Trafford.

Newcastle Also in the Race

Manchester United, however, won’t have a free run. Newcastle United are also in the hunt, viewing Kolo Muani as an ideal replacement for Alexander Isak, who is linked with a move to Barcelona. The Magpies are prepared to match any competitive offer that comes in from the Red Devils.

United Struggling for Firepower

Last season, Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggled to find consistency in front of goal, combining for just 17 goals. Their underwhelming form prompted vocal criticism from captain Bruno Fernandes, who pointed out the team’s lack of efficiency in the final third.

Kolo Muani, by contrast, has delivered more solid numbers in Italy, scoring 10 goals in 22 appearances on loan at Juventus. With his blend of pace, strength, and clinical finishing, he’s seen as a potential immediate starter.

PSG Ready to Sell for €30 Million

Kolo Muani’s market value, per Transfermarkt, is estimated at €30 million (R$194 million). PSG are open to negotiations, especially as they seek to reshape their squad and free up funds following the arrival of several new players under Luis Enrique.

For Manchester United and Newcastle, that valuation is within reach but time is of the essence, with Amorim pushing the board to secure a deal swiftly before the Magpies make their move.

A Perfect Fit?

With Manchester United looking to bounce back from a disappointing season and rebuild their frontline, Kolo Muani could be a key piece in Amorim’s new era. His experience in both Ligue 1 and Serie A, combined with his physical presence, make him one of the most compelling striker options still on the market.
