Liverpool insists on Alexander Isak and is expected to make a new offer to Newcastle

Liverpool are preparing a new bid for Alexander Isak, with the striker openly expressing his desire to join the Reds before the transfer window closes on September 2.

Isak wants Liverpool move

The Swedish forward has reportedly grown frustrated with Newcastle, citing “unfulfilled proposals” and contradictions from the club’s management. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have already informed Isak they will return with an improved offer.

The player, for his part, has made it clear he wants the move “as soon as possible”, placing pressure on Newcastle’s board.

Newcastle holds firm

The Magpies remain resistant to letting their star leave. Backed by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF), Newcastle insists Isak is non-transferable unless a club pays €170 million (£145m / R$1 billion).

Liverpool’s first proposal, worth €110 million, was immediately rejected as being far below Newcastle’s expectations.

Saudi fund intervention

According to The Telegraph, representatives from the Saudi fund and co-owner Jamie Reuben personally met with Isak to convince him to stay. Despite a salary increase being discussed, the striker has reiterated his preference to move to Anfield.
