Manchester United frustrated by Chelsea’s €35 million offer for Garnacho

Red Devils set €47M price tag on Argentine winger amid interest from Premier League rivals

Manchester United have turned down a €35 million offer from Chelsea for Alejandro Garnacho, considering the bid significantly below the player’s market value. According to journalist Miguel Delaney, the Blues are unwilling to raise their bid, which has caused frustration within the Red Devils’ hierarchy.

United value Garnacho at €47 million

The Old Trafford board, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, reportedly believe Garnacho’s potential justifies a fee of at least £40 million (€47 million). The 20-year-old winger is viewed as a player with a high ceiling and strong market appeal, particularly given his recent role as a starter under former manager Erik ten Hag.

Although United are open to selling Garnacho during the current transfer window, they are not willing to let him go for less than their valuation.

Chelsea’s firm stance limits negotiation

Chelsea, on the other hand, have made it clear that they will not exceed £30 million (€35 million) for the Argentine international. As it stands, no agreement has been reached, and talks appear to have stalled.

Other Premier League sides, including Tottenham and Aston Villa, are monitoring the situation but have yet to submit formal offers.

Garnacho open to leaving Manchester

Sources close to the player say Garnacho is dissatisfied with the direction of his career at Manchester United, especially following the arrival of new manager Ruben Amorim, which has jeopardized his place in the starting XI. The winger is now said to be open to a move in search of more playing time and a new challenge.

Garnacho’s 2023/24 Season Stats

Despite inconsistency, Garnacho had a notable presence last season:

  • 58 appearances
  • 11 goals
  • 10 assists
  • 3,568 minutes played

These numbers underline his potential, and Manchester United are holding firm, hoping that clubs will meet their €47M asking price before the transfer window closes.
