Liverpool Agrees Six-Year Deal with Hugo Ekitike While Awaiting Rodrygo Decision

As talks for Real Madrid’s Rodrygo remain uncertain, Anfield moves closer to securing the former PSG striker.
Liverpool is intensifying its summer transfer business with a potential signing of Hugo Ekitike, the former Paris Saint-Germain striker currently at Eintracht Frankfurt. While the Premier League club still dreams of signing Rodrygo from Real Madrid, French forward Ekitike appears to be the next name in line to reinforce Arne Slot’s attacking options.
According to reputable journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Ekitike has already agreed to a six-year contract with Liverpool. However, negotiations between the clubs are still in progress, and no official announcement will be made until a final agreement is reached.
Former PSG Talent on the Rise in Germany
Ekitike, 22, gained initial recognition at Stade de Reims, but his stint at PSG was short-lived due to limited opportunities. In 32 appearances for the Paris club, he managed 4 goals and 4 assists before moving to Germany.
Since joining Eintracht Frankfurt, Ekitike has reignited his form. Last season, he scored 22 goals and delivered 12 assists in 48 matches, cementing his value with 40 direct goal contributions in just 64 games since arriving in the Bundesliga.
Liverpool’s Offensive Strategy: Rodrygo, Isak, and Now Ekitike
While Rodrygo remains a top-tier target, his future at Real Madrid is still undecided. Liverpool is keeping close tabs, hoping to pounce should the Spanish giants open the door to a deal.
Another name on the radar is Alexander Isak, but negotiations with Newcastle United have proven complicated. The Magpies are reportedly reluctant to strengthen a domestic rival and are even willing to accept a lower bid from Barcelona rather than deal with Liverpool. With Isak’s valuation reportedly reaching astronomical levels, the Reds are pivoting toward more feasible targets like Ekitike.
