Florentino Pérez loses patience with Vinicius Júnior’s performance at Real Madrid

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez is reportedly growing frustrated with Vinícius Júnior’s recent performances, as negotiations over a new contract between the Brazilian star and the club remain stalled. The 25-year-old forward has yet to agree to terms for a renewal, with his entourage demanding bonuses considered “excessive” by the club’s leadership.

Contract Talks on Hold as Madrid Waits for Preseason Clarity

According to Fichajes, Real Madrid hopes to resume talks once Vinícius returns for preseason training. However, Pérez is expected to deliver a clear ultimatum: the Brazilian must rediscover his top form if he wants to secure a contract at the salary level he desires.

The Madrid hierarchy reportedly believes that the performance-related bonuses and salary demands made by Vinícius’s agents are significantly higher than what the club is prepared to offer especially given the winger’s recent dip in consistency.

Strong Stats, But Madrid Wants More

Vinícius ended last season with impressive numbers: 58 appearances, 22 goals, and 16 assists, contributing directly to 38 goals in total. Yet, Real Madrid feels he hasn’t consistently performed at the decisive level expected of a marquee player, especially in the club’s biggest fixtures.

While his overall output remains strong, Pérez wants more leadership and consistency from a player expected to be the face of Real Madrid in the post-Benzema era.

Saudi Clubs Circle as European Rivals Monitor

Vinícius remains a hot commodity in the global market. Saudi Arabian clubs, which previously failed in their pursuit of the Brazilian, are once again expressing interest, hoping to take advantage of the current contractual deadlock.

Meanwhile, European giants like Liverpool and PSG are monitoring the situation. However, insiders suggest Real Madrid would be reluctant to sell the forward to a Champions League rival, preferring instead to retain or sell him outside Europe if necessary.

Endrick Could Be Loaned Amid Real Madrid Overhaul

The uncertainty surrounding Vinícius coincides with new reports on Endrick’s future. According to the Spanish press, Carlo Ancelotti has advised the young Brazilian to seek playing time elsewhere—possibly through a loan move in the second half of the year. The idea is that more regular minutes at another club could help boost his standing with the Brazilian national team.

Since arriving in Europe in 2018/19, Vinícius Júnior has won every major title available with Real Madrid, including La Liga, the Champions League, and the Club World Cup. He also briefly featured for Real Madrid Castilla, where he scored four goals in five games.
