Chelsea Consider Including Andrey Santos in Deal for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers

Chelsea and Aston Villa negotiations: Andrey Santos could be a bargaining chip for Morgan Rogers

As the summer transfer window heats up, Chelsea are stepping up negotiations to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, and they may use Andrey Santos as a bargaining chip to facilitate the deal.

According to reports, Chelsea are preparing a package that would include Santos plus cash in exchange for Rogers, whose estimated value stands at £80 million (approx. R$598.8 million). Talks between the two Premier League clubs are expected to intensify in the coming weeks, with a deal needing to be finalized before the September 1st transfer deadline.

Chelsea’s Strategic Move

Rogers, 21, has emerged as a key figure at Aston Villa and is being targeted by the Blues as a long-term solution to bolster their midfield options. Chelsea see him as a versatile and technically gifted player who fits their current project under Enzo Maresca.

To reduce Villa’s asking price, Chelsea are willing to offer Andrey Santos, who joined from Vasco da Gama in 2023 but has yet to secure a consistent role at Stamford Bridge. The inclusion of the Brazilian midfielder would lower the cash component of the deal while giving Villa a promising young talent in return.

Aston Villa Interested in More than One Chelsea Player

Sources also indicate that Nicolas Jackson is on Villa’s radar. While there is no confirmation of his inclusion in the current talks, Villa’s growing interest in Chelsea’s fringe players suggests a potential for broader negotiations.

Andrey Santos Could Benefit from the Move

For Andrey Santos, the potential move to Villa Park could provide the regular first-team minutes he needs to develop further. Still just 20 years old, Santos has shown flashes of brilliance and remains highly rated both in England and in Brazil.

A switch to Villa could offer him the opportunity to play under Unai Emery, a manager known for nurturing young talent, in a team competing for European spots.
