Portuguese forward to earn €10 million per season; Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly key in sealing the deal

João Félix is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Al-Nassr, with the Saudi Pro League club agreeing to pay €30 million to Chelsea for the Portuguese forward. The deal includes a two-year contract with an option to extend by one or two additional seasons, according to Bandar 52.

Transfer Fee and Payment Structure

The €30 million transfer fee will be paid in two instalments of €15 million each. The first payment is expected to be completed this week, while the second will follow at the start of the next European football season in July 2026.

Salary Details: €10 Million Annually Plus Performance Bonuses

Félix will earn a base salary of €10 million per season, with the contract also including a performance-related bonus package worth up to €950,000. These incentives will be tied to goals, assists, and trophies won while at Al-Nassr.

The financial package is believed to be one of the major factors in the player’s decision to move to the Saudi club, despite interest from European sides.

Benfica Beaten to the Deal by Saudi Giants

Benfica, Félix’s boyhood club, had been optimistic about re-signing the 25-year-old forward. However, Al-Nassr’s late intervention, paired with a superior financial proposal and the influence of Cristiano Ronaldo, ultimately shifted the balance.

Ronaldo, a fellow Portuguese star and Al-Nassr’s biggest name, reportedly played a direct role in convincing Félix to join the Saudi side, persuading him to delay a return to Lisbon.

Career Overview: From Benfica Prodigy to Global Journeyman

Félix burst onto the scene at Benfica, quickly establishing himself as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents. His performances earned him a big-money move to Atlético Madrid, where he struggled to fully deliver on expectations.

The forward later had loan spells at Chelsea and Barcelona, and spent the 2024/25 season with AC Milan, where he played regularly but failed to cement a long-term role. His permanent transfer to Chelsea was only finalized last summer before this swift move to the Middle East.

Al-Nassr will now be Félix’s sixth club and his first venture outside of Europe’s top five leagues.
