Bayern star calls Club World Cup clash with Flamengo “not complicated” — Reporter ends AI rumor

Flamengo may be out of the FIFA Club World Cup, but the controversy continues off the pitch. After Bayern Munich’s 4-2 victory over the Brazilian giants, German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer became the center of debate on social media  and now it’s confirmed: he really said it was “easy.”

A short video clip spread quickly online, where Neuer appears to say:

“4-2. The match wasn’t complicated. Easy.”

Initially, many fans questioned the authenticity of the footage, suspecting it was AI-generated. However, journalist Raisa Simplicio confirmed that the video is real and was recorded after the match, putting all doubts to rest.

A Divided Reaction: Neuer vs. Kompany

While Neuer’s words were blunt, Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany took a much more respectful approach toward Flamengo:

“We played against a great team. It wasn’t totally different from the top-level matches we face in Europe.”

The contrasting opinions reveal the tension between on-field performance and post-match perception. While the scoreboard shows 4-2, Flamengo’s display left plenty of room for interpretation.

Did Flamengo Deserve More Respect?

Despite the loss, Flamengo outshot and out-possessed Bayern, with goals from Gerson and Jorginho keeping the match competitive. However, individual errors, like an early own goal and a misplaced pass that led to Goretzka’s strike, proved costly.

Coach Filipe Luís later pointed to the team’s physical disadvantage as a key factor, while praising the team’s bravery in going toe-to-toe with a European powerhouse.

Why Neuer’s Words Matter

Manuel Neuer’s “easy match” comment hit a nerve with Flamengo fans and Brazilian football supporters in general. Coming from one of the most respected goalkeepers of his generation, the remark felt more like a dismissal than honest analysis.

That’s why Raisa Simplicio’s confirmation was so crucial. In an age of deepfakes and AI-generated content, it’s important to know what’s real and in this case, Neuer truly said it.
