Real Betis beats Fiorentina and takes advantage in the Conference League semi-final

Betis came out on top in the Conference League semi-final. Playing at home, at the Benito Villamarín stadium, the team led by Manuel Pellegrini beat Fiorentina 2-1 in the first leg of the competition’s semi-final. Brazilian Antony was one of the standout players of the match after scoring a great goal

Betis opened the scoring in the first half, after just six minutes, with Abde Ezzalzouli. The Brazilian’s goal came in the second half, in the 18th minute. Antony carried the ball down the right flank of the attack, took it to the middle, and took a shot. The ball bounced off the Fiorentina defender, but fell to the feet of the forward, who took a shot with his right foot and found the corner. Behind on the scoreboard, Fiorentina managed to reduce the deficit in the 27th minute, with Luca Ranieri.

Antony’s amazing goal even caught the attention of Fiorentina. Through its social media, the club deviated from the norms of announcing an opposing team’s goal, and acknowledged that it was no ordinary goal by saying that it was a “great goal” by the Brazilian.

This was another good performance from the former Manchester United player, who once again left his mark with a beautiful goal. It was also with the help of Antony that the Betis team beat Gent in the first game and got closer to the round of 16 of the Conference League.

Betis and Fiorentina will face each other again next Thursday, at 4pm (Brasília time), at the Artemio Franchi stadium, in Florence. With the victory, the Spanish team has the advantage of a draw in the return leg.
