Paris FC moves up to Ligue 1 and prepares for a derby with PSG, separated by just 200 meters

Paris FC secured promotion to Ligue 1 on Friday after a 1-1 draw against Martigues, which secured second place in Ligue 2 and a return to the top flight of French football, 46 years after their last appearance in 1979. With this promotion, a first-ever derby against PSG is also confirmed … which is just 200 metres away.

This is because, from next season, Paris FC will play at the Stade Jean-Bouin, located just 200 meters from the Parc des Princes, home of Paris Saint-Germain. This geographical proximity makes this one of the closest derbies in the world, with the two clubs literally sharing the same block.

The rivalry between PSG and Paris FC promises to bring a new dynamic to Parisian football. With the financial support of the Arnault family, which owns 55% of the club, and Red Bull, with 15%, Paris FC has been building an ambitious project to establish itself on the French football scene and challenge PSG’s hegemony in the French capital and in France.
