INTER IN THE CHAMPIONS FINAL!

Inter Milan beat Barcelona 4-3 to advance to the Champions League final. In a match with two comebacks, the Italian team prevailed at the San Siro. The aggregate score ended 7-6. Lautaro Martínez, Çalhanoglu, Acerbi and Frattesi scored for Inter; Eric García, Olmo and Raphinha scored for Barça.

INTER TAKES THE LEAD

Inter Milan were all for the first 45 minutes. From the fans’ celebrations to the first touches of the ball, the home team dominated Barcelona. With tight spaces and a lot of speed, Inter’s wings nullified the visitors. Yamal was stopped by Dimarco, and Raphinha barely saw the ball while being marked by Dumfries.

The first goal came in the 20th minute, scored by Lautaro Martínez. Despite not being 100%, he opened the scoring after a good pass from Dumfries. The play came from the other side, Dimarco, who stole the ball from Olmo. Near the end of the first half, Lautaro was brought down in the area by Cubarsí. After a review, the referee awarded a penalty. Çalhanoglu converted and made it 2-0 for Inter over Barça.

BARÇA COME BACK BUT INTER TAKE IT TO EXTRA TIME

The second half continued at a frantic pace. It was time for Barcelona to react. Eric García pulled one back in the eighth minute, and Barça continued to attack in search of an equaliser, which came in the 14th minute with a goal from Olmo. The visitors pressed until the third goal, with Raphinha.

The Brazilian had done little in the game, but he appeared at the decisive moment to make it 3-2. When Barcelona’s victory seemed certain, Acerbi appeared to spoil the Catalan party. In the 47th minute, he scored Inter’s third goal and took the game to extra time.

FRATTESI AND SOMMER QUALIFY INTER

Extra time was even more exciting. Eight minutes into extra time, Thuram received the ball, protected it and passed it to Taremi. The number 99 made a wall and passed it to Frattesi, who played it into the opposite corner of Szczesny’s goal.

With the score at 4-3, Inter held off Barcelona’s pressure until the final whistle. Yamal tried the hardest, but was stopped by Sommer. Named man of the match, the Inter Milan goalkeeper made seven saves and was essential for the Italian team’s qualification.

IN THE END

Having qualified for the final, Inter Milan are seeking their fourth title in the competition. The final will be played at 4pm on May 31 in Munich. The Italian team’s opponent will be decided tomorrow at 4pm.
