Aston Villa beats Fulham in the Premier League
With a goal from a Belgian midfielder, Villa maintains 7th place in the English Championship
VILLA’S VICTORY
Aston Villa beat Fulham 1-0 on Saturday morning. Tielemans scored the only goal of the match and took Villa to 60 points. The team remains in 7th place and is in the qualifying zone for the Conference League.
THE GAME
The opening half of Aston Villa vs Fulham saw chances at both ends, but it was the home side who took the lead. In the 11th minute, Tielemans headed in McGinn’s cross to score the only goal of the game.
In the second half, both teams continued to attack, and Fulham managed to score. Sessegnon, early in the second half, found the back of the net, but the goal was disallowed due to a control on the player’s arm. Afterwards, Villa managed to hold on to their narrow advantage and took the victory.
SEQUENCE
Villa’s next game is on Saturday against Bournemouth. Fulham play on the same day but at 11am when they host Everton in London.
