Catalonia confirms Flick’s renewal with Barcelona
German coach reportedly committed to Catalans until 2027. Dream season could culminate in four titles

Hans-Dieter Flick has reportedly reached an agreement to renew his contract with Barcelona , extending the partnership that began this season and has so far been a huge success until at least 2027. The German’s contract is valid until 2026, according to Radio Catalunya. The Blaugrana management intended to sign a longer contract with the coach, but he refused and preferred a shorter renewal.
Flick took charge of the team at the start of this season and Barça have been wowing Europe, returning to their signature attacking style of play. They have already won the Spanish Super Cup (they crushed Real Madrid 5-2 in the final) and are well placed to win the other three titles: they are in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals (4-0 against Dortmund in the first leg), they lead the league with a four-point lead over Real Madrid (and will face Los Blancos in the Copa del Rey final ).
This Friday, in the preview of Leganés’ home game for LaLiga, Flick commented on the subject. «I’m not one of those coaches who wants three-year contracts to secure their future. I’m not like that. I really like being at Barcelona, it’s the best club in the world, but my mentality is to take it one year at a time. Right now, that’s the scenario», he said.
