Referee who ejected Bellingham cleared of conflict of interest allegations
The Spanish Football Federation has concluded that there is no illegality in the economic activities of Munuera Montero, who can now referee again

Unblemished. After a thorough analysis of all accounting and commercial documents relating to the economic activity of Spanish referee Munuera Montero, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) concluded that there is no conflict of interest between the Spaniard’s business off the field and his activity on the pitch.
After being left out of the nominations for the next round of LaLiga and being removed by UEFA from this Thursday’s UEFA Europa League game between Bodo Glimt and Twente , Munuera will be able to return to refereeing in Spanish and European football.
Despite it having been proven that there is no conflict of interest between his role as a referee and as a partner in a consultancy firm, the RFEF advised Munuera Montero to reconsider his off-field business dealings.
The president of the RFEF, Rafael Louzán, has already spoken out about the case, expressing his full support for the Spanish referee: «We will be by his side. This conclusion gives us the peace of mind that he (Munuera) deserves as a person. We have to establish rules so that all cases where there may be a conflict of interest are controlled. They (the referees) have the most difficult role in football»
It is worth remembering that the Spanish referee entered the “eye of the storm” of Spanish football when he sent off Jude Bellingham in the last round of LaLiga between Osasuna and Real Madrid .
