Yamal reassures Barça fans: “Going to Real Madrid? Impossible”
Blaugrana star is clear in stating that neither his present nor his future is at the ‘blancos’ club

At 17 years old, Lamine Yamal is already one of the great figures of Barcelona and Spanish football. The winger, European champion with La Roja in 2024, is a key player in Hansi Flick’s strategy at the Catalan club and, this season, has already scored 11 goals and provided 14 assists in 32 games.
In an interview with Mundo Deportivo , Yamal spoke about the current situation and gave a guarantee to Barça fans : he will not go to Real Madrid .
«Go to Real Madrid ? Impossible”, he began by saying: “I feel comfortable at Barcelona , which is the most important thing. Talking about stars or not stars, in the end it’s about playing, about showing what we are. There is no reason to feel like you are the star, superior or inferior. It is not necessary. The important thing is to be comfortable, play for the team and have your teammates help you. That’s enough.»
Asked about the secrets of his and the Blaugrana ‘s success , Yamal pointed to the collective: «Being a team. We improved mainly in unity, in the intensity we put into training, every day. What you see in the game is what you see in training. We tried to do our best, all together, and that’s what made us better.”
“Things are expected of me that are not normally expected of a 17-year-old and I demand that of myself. That is what makes me go further every day and want more,” he said.
Friendship with Raphinha and comparisons with Messi
Regarding who is the player who gives him the best advice, Yamal had no doubts in choosing the former Sporting and V. Guimarães player , Raphinha : «I’m always talking to him. He always talks to me before games, after games, after training. I think that, of the veterans, because in the end the others are almost my age or two years older, he is the one I talk to the most and with whom I have the best relationship.’
“The best advice you gave me? That I should always be calm, that knowing the level I’m at, I don’t have to stress or think about anything, that I should just have fun on the pitch and that’s it,” he revealed.
Finally, the young winger addressed an inevitable topic: the comparison with Lionel Messi . Despite the extra pressure that this comparison could bring, Yamal stated that he tries to be himself and not imitate the one he considers to be «the best player in history»: «Luckily, I am not the first person to have this experience. That means that it is something that people have inside them whenever they see a left-footed winger or, sometimes, only when we are left-footed. I try to be myself.»
«It’s obvious that Messi , and I always say this, is the best player in history and being compared to him means you’re doing well, but I try to be me. I try to make my own way and give everything for this shirt,” he concluded.
