Julen Lopetegui was in charge of West Ham for just six months and in that time he oversaw 22 games, of which he lost 10, drew 5 and won 7. A record that did not please those in charge of the English club, especially after the defeats suffered by Liverpool (0-5) and Manchester City (1-4), in succession.

The Spanish coach was fired this Wednesday, after many weeks in which his future in England was widely discussed, and received financial compensation of almost 4 million euros, the amount he was entitled to for another year of his contract.

The former FC Porto player was contractually linked to the Hammers until June 2026, with an option for a further year, but that adventure has ended and now there is a Portuguese player being considered as his successor: Paulo Fonseca, who also has competition from Graham Potter.
