Ronaldo ‘Fenomeno’ comments on the possibility of Guardiola coaching Brazil
Former player wants to be president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF)
Pep Guardiola has renewed his contract with Manchester City until 2027, but this has not cooled the rumors that the Spanish coach is linked to the Brazilian national team, which have gained strength with the intention of Ronaldo Fenómeno becoming president of the CBF.
The former star assured, quoted by Sport , that this objective is not new and that he has a clear conscience: «I will wait for the right moment to move forward, because I feel ready and Brazilian football needs radical changes. It is a dream of mine.»
“We don’t know when the CBF will call elections,” Ronaldo later criticised, taking aim at the CBF and its current president, Ednaldo Rodrigues, “Brazilian football is going through a difficult time, European football is evolving more than ours. We need a long-term project.”
Regarding the possibility of hiring Pep Guardiola as coach, Ronaldo did not give any guarantees: «We are not going to put the cart before the horse. I have many ideas if I become president, but now is not the time to speculate.»
